Established in 1973, Concast (India) pioneered the continuous casting technology in India when the steel manufacturing industry was still in its early stages. This strong initiative is one of the factors that laid the groundwork and helped champion a promising future for the steel industry in India and overseas. Ever since, the manufacturing of steel has grown exponentially in the global steel landscape, with Concast (India) establishing a leading position in serving all continuous casting needs of this rapidly growing industry. Producing high-quality steel in an energy-efficient manner, Concast (India) has innovated and supplied continuous casting machines of increasing sophistication, and has become a driving force in the Indian and overseas steel industries.

Established in 1973,
Concast (India) pioneered the continuous casting technology in India when the steel manufacturing industry was in its early stages.
Early focus on Billet Casters
Concast (India) began supplying billet casters of up to two strands, and gradually expanded the range to multiple strands and higher capacities. The range of machines diversified to include:

Going global
After establishing leadership in India, Concast (India) expanded to global markets, and today has an international presence in over 48 countries.
A new chapter
In October 2013, Concast (India) was acquired by Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals & Machinery, a world leader in the steel industry. It was then integrated into Mitsubishi-Hitachi’s global network.
The beginning of Primetals
In January 2015, Mitsubishi-Hitachi Metals Machinery and Siemens Metals Technologies united to form a joint venture called Primetals Technologies, in order to offer world-leading solutions in steel plant technology. Concast (India) thus became a part of the Primetals Group.
A turning point
In 2020, Mitsubishi Heavy Industries and Partners became the sole owners of Primetals Technologies.
